The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff Rocks Nairobi, Kenya
So jazzed were Jeff and his team that they headed out for soundcheck as soon as they landed in Nairobi.
They had come to bring the house down and they were not taking chances. Going by the few moments at the Carnivore, we could tell that we were in for a treat.
The show kicked off at 7 pm with DJ Kwambo and thereafter followed by DJ Mista Dru.
DJ Andre Addiction was also in the house to give his addicts a little bit of that Andre flavor.
The mood was just right with people moving and swaying to the sounds of the 80s and the 90s. As the Simba Saloon started filling up you could tell there was a thrill of excitement in the air. There's just something about music from those days... Nostalgic!
Jazzy Jeff got on the decks at exactly midnight. Whereas the crowd was hesitant to get on the dance floor, when Jazz came on stage, the dance floor was abuzz with people who'd come to see the legend up close and of course those who wanted to have some pictorial evidence that yes, they were there.

#VinylDestinationTour was accompanied by two MCs - Dayne Jordan and Rhymefest - who did nothing short of a fantastic job hyping up the crowd and getting them to sing along. Rhymefest is a multiple Grammy-award winning artist as well as an Oscar Award Winning Songwriter. Dayne Jordan is a rapper who's been working with Jazzy Jeff to produce great music.
Jazzy did not disappoint! He added a classic touch to his set when he threw in his famous pied piper routine. The thing about his art and what people really enjoyed about the show was that he kept it fresh and he kept us all guessing. You just could not tell what song would come blaring up from the speakers next. He kept us all on our feet the entire time - one hour and forty-five minutes to be precise. Dj Adrian and Dj Kace then brought it all altogether and shut it down. If there was ever an amazing musical and magical roller coaster ride, it was this one.
